I stopped by Antique Marketplace this week as I was exploring Burnet Rd.  This stretch of road is chock full of great thrifting and antiques (Like Top Drawer Thrift, Out of the Past, and Second Hand), and this is a great spot to add to the list.  It's very open and bright when you walk in.  There's a variety of booths, it's consignment shop model with individual vendor booths. And while some of the booths might not have a lot of inventory, others are stuffed to the brim.  Each of the vendors has some seriously awesome stuff, too.  I recommend a couple of walk throughs here so you don't miss any of the fun hidden treasures!

When you first walk in, you're greeted with giant cabinets full of jewelry and a long hallway booths.  I always get really excited at this part...when it's time to just dive in!

And I just noticed that mid-century coffee table to the right.  We've been looking for one and I hope that's still there!

There's lots of variety in this shop, too.  This isn't my personal style, but this booth is so well curated that I know folks who love shabby chic and a few frills in their life, will love it!

Andy and I had this joke for a long time after our wedding that we didn't need more dishware.  We bought everything for the wedding, so we had tons of vintage dishes just sitting around.  But we got rid of a lot of during the move...sooooo...I  need these.

Look at the detail on this cabinet!  You just don't see craftsmanship like this now in modern pieces.

How great is this type desk?!  I had one like it for my bitty garden last summer, but we left it behind in the move too.  I just love the shape.  Also that couch is everything good.

Be sure to check every little nook in this shop!  I found this hiding in the back right corner and just love the display.

There were a couple of Avon Small World perfume bottles in the back of the shop.  I kind of want to start collecting them.  They're just so precious!  And remind of me Kitschy Digitals ^_^

I cannot express to you how much I love everything about this photo.

I wish I knew more about these boxes.  There's were bunches of them with different carvings and labels.  I thought the flowers on this one were just breathtaking.

This booth was probably my favorite.  Mid-century fun!  I'll take the cat, the table, the tree wallhanging...

...the chairs, the panther, the ice buckets, and the scalloped backdrop.  My aunt says I was born in the wrong decade ^_^

How wonderful is this wallhanging?!  I need more walls.  That's all there is to it.

For icing on the cake, when I stopped by, Nora and Mary Elizabeth at the front desk and were so friendly!  A welcoming atmosphere is very important to me when I visit any local business and these ladies were so nice.  Definitely stop by this shop when you're exploring Burnet Rd.  You will not be disappointed!

Continuing our tour of Hampden in Balitmore, today brings us further down the street to, from what I saw is, the largest antique shop in the area.  It's one of those wonderful, typical antique malls with lots of vendor booths packed with a huge variety of stuff and things.  You could get lost in here for hours!  There's the main floor, a basement full of clothes and an attic filled with mid-century and etcetera.  The day we went, there was a sidewalk sale going on.  I'm not sure if that was a special thing, but it was fun poking through things.

When you first walk in, you'll be surrounded by glass cases that are stuffed to the gills.  You'll also be pretty overwhelmed by how big the space is.  The photo above was taken after walking about halfway into the building.

There's a great upstairs space that has a lot more mid-century furniture and decor.  Lots of specialized booths with ephemera, themed inventory, right alongside booths just packed with everything you could imagine!

I need everything in this photo immediately.

Downstairs is a treasure trove of incredible clothes! Seriously.  I died a little.

Can you picture my eyeballs turning into hearts and bulging out of my head when I saw this display?  Because that's exactly what happened!  There's a pink Sunbeam mixer right under a pink tutu!

This place is just too much fun.  The Hampden area just too much fun and this shop is just on an already big list of 'must sees' on that main drag.  I'm already itching to go back!

The Hampden area in Baltimore is just a haven for vintage boutiques, thrift shops, indie businesses and delicious food!  We went to 36th street with a few shops in mind, and ended up finding so many more. I definitely recommend a visit!  I'll be featuring a lot of businesses from this area, and my first highlight is...

In an area where a lot of vintage dealers and consignment shops mark prices up like crazy, David's is a lot more friendly to your wallet.  A lot of what we saw wasn't in perfect shape, and some things might need a little more love, but considering the prices, I think a little elbow grease would be totally fine.  The space itself was expansive with most of their inventory being furniture.   I think this is definitely the kind of place where you'll find a diamond in the rough.  I'd recommend bringing a truck ^_^

I'm still drooling over this Broyhill Brasilia set.  Ugh!  So good!

Also, still kicking myself for not snatching this up immediately!  I'm on a never-ending quest for the perfect china cabinet.

Mount Vernon Antiques

I love old stuff.  Thrift stores, vintage boutiques and antique malls are some of my favorite places to be. I love thinking about the stories behind everything there, who owned it, and if they were someone's favorite treasures.  Plus, now, stuff comes from big box stores.  I mean, I love Target.  But there's a quality of craftsmanship that just isn't the same as it was in the past.  People would buy things that lasted, things that would be repaired instead of replaced.  I like keeping that kind of attitude and appreciation alive.  So!  I've started a collection of places in my area that is ever expanding and I'll be sharing some of my favorites here!

This place is incredible!  They're antique mall and work with a number of dealers.  There's a huge variety of items from Victorian to Mid-Century Modern...little chotchkies to furniture.  Modern Montage is one of my favorite dealers there...they've Danish furniture will probably make you faint a little bit.  I swear I get a little anxiety from how much I want everything they have to offer.
