No Division Show

Last weekend really was amazing. Along with our Senior Show, Dick and I were both in a local exhibition with other Salisbury artists and the guys from the No Division Design Syndicate. It was an amazing time and I made this new piece just for it! It's my self portrait.

Dick helped Tim Fields (the awesome guy who made this happen and also is a glass blower with and etsy shop! http://timfieldsglass.etsy.com) with hanging the show. Here's our room in progress:

The framed print all the way to the left that's terribly cut off is Dick's wood cut of Mickey in a hangman's noose. The prints on the floor are a couple mine that weren't hung yet.

Casey came to the show, and apparently we were very concerned with something happening over there.

Meeee! This one is about half the size of the piece in the Senior Show. The lighting wasn't great, just fluorescents that really put a glare on the darkest parts.

I brought my buttons on a whim, not really expecting to get anything out of it, but they went like crazy! Trevor is the shit and put his on right quick. I love when awesome people like my stuff.

JP (far left) is part of No Division and had tons of his prints up for display and for sale. He's amazing. Look at everything he makes! He's got an Etsy Shop, too. It was a great night of art, music and friends. I could make a habit of this.

I'm in Love

Top Left to Right:
*I love their packaging so much. The branding is excellent and color palette makes me happy.
*She's an awesome cool chick that makes awesome cool things. This is my favorite picture and shirt, my Grandmom used to have a machine just like this.
*Teal is one of my favorite colors right now and the photography is just stunning on these bracelets.
*Why, yes. I would like monsters for my ears! Look how fun!
*Love this new shop. If I any money, I'd be all over it! The colors are gorgeous.

Just some of my recent favorites. I was having writer's block this morning and just wanted to play in Adobe Illustrator, so I did! I hope you like these...I think they are wonderful! Tell me what you think ^_^

Methinks tomorrow will be a tutorial day.

Otakon 09 Picture Extravaganza!

It's been a week since Otakon and I'm still dizzy from the experience. It was SO much fun. We couldn't escape from the booth too much to look around, though I did venture into the dealer's room a couple of times ^_^ Anyway, we had a GREAT weekend and The Pink Samurai is going strong. Here are some pictures of the awesome kids who came out to the show.

Imagine this x 4...and on two floors. I love that Jason is in the middle!
Shun! Shun the non-believer!
Super kawaii in orange.
I don't know what's happening here, but I like it.
This guy had a huge contraption on his back, I applauded his dedication.
Couldn't get a good pic of them, but they were Dr. Girlfriend & Phantom Limb from the Venture Bros.! Only my favorite cartoon ever.
You're gonna say "wow' every time.
OMG RAPTOR JESUS! This guy won Otakon in my mind.
A couple of my sister's friends stopped by to say hi and raid the buttons.
The cutest Bumblebee Mario ever.
I think this is a neopet or something. Props to them if they made that themselves.
I don't think the phone is part of the cosplay.
Remeber her from my first Otakon? She came back wearing the purse she got from me 2 years ago! I was so happy to see it still being used and loved. Its the 99 potions bag. I'll have more bags for you next year, I promise ^_^

I'm a helper.
Checking out the buttons. Dick dyi-ed me a sweet display out of an old frame from Salvation Army.
I wish I could do this every day.
21 & 24! More Venture Bros. goodness. They actually found their pic on my flickr and commented on it! It made my day.
So cute. She was bopping people on the head all day.
na naaaa na na na na na na naa na na na na na naaaa
Samurai Pikachu.

We did really well at the show, a good example for other crafty people that craft fairs aren't the only way to go. Next year will be even better and we're already planning our next cons! Anime USA, Nekocon, and Katsucon here we come!

I screen printed the other day

So I screen printed some totes the other day. Here's some pictures of some serious DYI.

The blue came out a lot darker than I had hoped, so some experimentation with white is definitely on the to do list. Love the red and natural colors tho! Again...tempted to keep everything I make. That's the problem with loving what you do ^_^
