October's Daily Drawings

Check out my ladies from last month!  Austin started giving us some cooler weather so I got to break out the jeans and cardigans.  Also, I think I just need to make a rule that there needs to be at least one kitten per week, because I'm always disappointed there's not more.  Cat Lady problems.

Thrifty Thursdays
We hung around South Congress for a lot of the month, exploring Prototype Vintage, Feathers Boutique, New Bohemia, and St. Vincent de Paul.  There was a quick hop over the Charm School Vintage in Austin, too.  

DIYs
How about a DIY to help you DIY?  This month I made up some dice that help get the creative juices flowing.  And I stitched up some Halloweeny guys!  I'm so happy with these little ones, I think I'll keep mine up all year.

Vintage Events 
Andy and I got a chance to hop over to Round Top & Warrenton for the most massive vintage and handmade fair we've ever seen!  Check out the photos to see what 13 miles of vendors looks like.  And I had a chance to pop by Rave On, a new vintage shop that's opening on Nov. 2!  Sneak peeks are awesome...especially when there full of mid-century furniture.

Travels 
Have I mentioned lately how much I love Texas?  I could drive around this state for years and not see everything.  In October, we hosted my sister-in-law for a week of sightseeing and gorging ourselves!  One of our favorite random finds was the Buckhorn Saloon in San Antonio...so ridiculous haha!  And we also hopped over to Paper Bear in San Marcos because it's one of my favorite places on the planet.

Outfit 
I've been wearing this outfit for about a month now.  Not these particular pieces, but I've got piles of cardigans in different colors haha!  Andy took the photos for this post and I'm so in love with them.  The sunset is just gorgeous.  And of course, Star Wars Halloween!

Daily Drawings 

October is always a big deal for us, because it's our anniversary!  And this month I also fangirled over Pacific Rim pretty hard and got excited about finally being able to make a real (bitty) beehive.  Those were definitely my favorite drawings out of the month.

I'm extra excited for November because it's my birthday!  The big 3-0!  This next chapter of my life is looking pretty great.  Thanks for following along this month!

Hooray for Halloween!  We didn't end up having any trick-or-treaters, so I guess we'll just have to eat all those Reese's pumpkins all by ourselves.  Oh well!

It's been gloomy all day and just started pouring buckets this evening.  I hope it clears up for tomorrow night's trick-or-treaters!  I plan to be in costume pretty much all day and can't wait to see what the little ones in our neighborhood dress up as tomorrow!  Also, candy.

Daily Drawing: 301 | Inevitable

I've had this feeling in the back of my mind for last couple of weeks that I needed to really check which day of the year we're actually on.  Only going by my own count, I just felt like I needed to double check.  Turns out..yep!  I was totally wrong :P  I must have missed a couple of days in my count along the way.

Today is day 301 of 2013.  I'm a little bummed I missed out on a big #300 drawing.  But I still love how yesterday came out ^_^  I'm glad I looked it up!  Only 64 days left in this crazy year!

Daily Drawing: 297 | Mall Date

Andy and I have been working on a lot of projects during the weekends, but today he whisked me off on a mall date.  Just like teenagers ^_^  We visited the Lego store, had Steak-n-Shake for the first time and I found a Sephora!  You guys...it's been months since I've been in a Sephora.  We I saw the sign, I could hear little cherubs singing...the clouds parted and the sun shined glorious in their front window.  I ended up getting the most fabulous nail polish ever, by Marc Jacobs (fancy pants!) and my birthday is next week and I got a free gift from Benefit.  My VIB card is dusted off and ready to go!

Today I got a sneak peek of a new vintage shop that's opening in Austin next week!  I'll be editing the photos and sharing them tomorrow.  So exciting!  It mid-century and just gorgeous.  So many gorgeous pieces.  It's so exciting to have new shop opening up!

Daily Drawing: 295 | Embroidery Day

I spent all day embroidering some new patterns that I'm hoping to have up for you tomorrow!  They're all Halloweeny and I'm really happy with how they turned out ^_^ Check out this WIP I posted on instagram.  Now to go watch some scary movies and finish embroidering the rest of these little guys!

I just realized that I own a dress in TARDIS blue!  I tossed on a pair of gold glitter flats, for the heart of the TARDIS, and the outfit was complete.  I might get this fun headband and make a little shrinky dink necklace that says "Police Box" to do a low-key cosplay sometime ^_^

Andy and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary today!  We're still very much newlyweds and I know we'll be all starry-eyed for each other when we're old and grey.  There's nothing better than marrying your best friend!

Today was spent writing, rewriting and writing some more.  I'm so thankful for my friends who help me edit!  I also hopped over the Hobby Lobby a couple of times to finish a fun DIY that will up tomorrow.  I can't wait to use what I've made to help with my occasional crafting blocks ^_^

I can't even tell you how comfy this cardigan is.  I've been bundled up all day while editing photos and writing new posts.  I love productive Mondays, don't you?

Daily Drawing: 290 | Sunday Stuff

Our working weekend turned out to be amazingly productive!  Both of us got so much done...I'm so glad we decided to put aside time for brainstorming, planning and making.  I've got roadmaps for this blog and a couple of other projects I'm working on.  Plus approximately 10 bajillion ideas for projects and drawings.

If you're feeling overwhelmed or lost in a big project, I definitely recommend setting some time aside to put things in perspective.  Think about your ultimate goals, what steps get you there, and then the little things that you can check off every day that get you to that goal.

Daily Drawing: 289 | Baby Beehive

You guyssssss!  I figured out how to make a baby beehive!  I'm so in love with how simple it was.  And I wore gold glitter shoes today.  Even though we spent the day at home working on tons of projects, I still dressed up a lil.  It was definitely a "weekend chic" kind of day ^_^

It was 70° out today, so naturally, I wore scarf.  I must have gotten acclimated to the summer heat here a little too well, because I'm  freezing right now :P

Our Fall comes a little later than the rest of the country...how's everyone else liking the cooler weather?

I spent the afternoon exploring a local park today.  Taking photos and learning my way around.  Texas is such a pretty state and I'm so excited the weather is breaking a little bit. I can finally get out and see it all without worrying about sunburns or remembering to have a bottle of water with me at all times :P

You guys!  It was in the 50s today!  I might have whined a little bit because I would live in tank tops and cut-offs if I could.  But it was nice to be able to toss on a scarf and hoodie when going out.  So bundled!

PS: The scarf I wore today was this one from my shop.  It was super comfy and extra bright ^_^

OMG YOU GUYS! PACIFIC RIM CAME OUT ON DVD AND I WATCHED IT 3 TIMES TODAY!

But seriously, I love this movie.  Everyone should probably stop what they're doing right now and watch it.  Because you can!  There's robots and monsters and all manor of silly characters.  Del Toro basically tricked all of America into watching an Anime...and that's awesome ^_^

Daily Drawing: 285 | Sleepy Days

It's been gloomy and rainy for the last few days and the cats and I have been extra sleepy.  It's so hard to stay motivated at home when it's dark and windy outside.  I'd love to say that I overcame the gloom and was super proactive and hit the ground running this week, but I really didn't.  And that's ok.  Today was for drawing and making and doing chores.  The big projects can wait till tomorrow ^_^
