Two whole months and I'm still carrying on with my 365 project.  I can tell you will complete confidence that I've never followed through with something for so long on this blog, and I'm so excited I've come so far!

Enjoying an extra lovey kitten these days.  Sprinks seems starved for attention lately...constantly meowing and begging for skritches.  Maybe it's the kitten equivalent to a mild seasonal affective disorder?  I know I've been feeling it a bit with the cold rainy days.  For whatever reason she's been clingy, I'm more than happy to dote on her on a little extra ^_^

Daily Drawing: 55 | Spring Tease

It was stupidly gorgeous today.  We had the window open as we spent the day in the living room watching Top Gear whilst drawing and crocheting.  I couldn't ask for anything more ^_^

Daily Drawing: 54 | Micro World

I wore the floppiest, coziest, itchiest sweater today.

It was a pretty miserable day, weather wise.  Grey, sprinkling and lower 40s...aka The Worst™.  But we braved the nasty to go on a scavenger hunt for a very specific yarn color I need.  And we pretty much cleaned out all the Michael's and A.C. Moore's in Northern Virginia ^_^  Victory!

The last Michael's we went to was in the most incredible shopping center.  Right next door was what looked to be the last consumer electronics store in the country...Micro World.  Rows and rows of CD-Rs, a Macintosh Systems Section, and what looked like the best customer service ever.  It was so unreal!  If you ever feel like building your own computer, I would absolutely suggest starting there.

This drawing is of me waving good-bye to the week.  Andy and I both had a really long week, and I'm looking forward to working on our fun stuff...like yarn shopping (!)...this weekend.

I signed up for some crafty consulting with Kathy Cano-Murillo today...and I'm super stoked about it!  Looking forward to picking her brain and getting all kinds of brilliant advice ^_^  This is going to be a good year for scarves.

We've been watching a lot of Myth Busters on Netflix lately.  Science!  It makes me want to be a science teacher, just so I can show episodes in class :P

Also, the day job was extra challenging today.  (Hense the crazy eyes)  Multiple presentations to large groups of people?  Pretty much my least favorite thing.  But because of these things, my team actually has some pretty cool opportunities.  As much as I'd rather be doing my own thing, some times days like this make the day job a lil cooler.

You guys.  I love bangs.

Check out my new ones!  Tim from Urban Style Lab in Dupont fixed me up tonight.  I'd been bummin' about my hair for a while...feeling a little "blah" about it.  I'm trying to grow it out (so I can rock a bee hive and some maiden braids) but I'd waited way too long between cuts and it was just kind of hanging there.

It's kind of amazing how a new 'do will make you feel ^_^  I'm ready to take on anything!

PS: Holy crap, I've made it 50 days in a row!!!

I'm getting my bangs cut tomorrow and I couldn't be happier.  But I do always feel the need to look really cool when I get my hair done.  The place I go is, I guess, "trendy"...and everyone always seems so cool.  If I wear all black and a expression of "whatever", then you'll know it went well :P

Also, I look like Captain Kirk today.  That's my kind of cool.

So Michael's has got a pretty killer coupon right now...it ends tomorrow so get all the things!  Since my favorite yarns are also on sale, we went on a trek through Virginia to a couple of stores to clean them out of the colors I need.  Sorry any Virginians that needed Vanna's Choice Baby in Aqua :/

I was also pretty proud of myself for figuring out a pretty complicated pattern for my more intermidiate skills.  I was having a terrible time finding what I needed, so I just did it myself!  I've been thinking of tossing some tutorials and original patterns up...so maybe soon ^_^

Also...I'm an inside-out creamsicle today.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.  Lots of stepping stones and new projects being started right now.  I'm trying to prioritize my crochet fun and my secret project, and it's getting difficult.  Weekends are precious ^_^

I'm so excited for our new Ikea stuffs!  There are so many shelves in our studio, I don't even know what to do.  Also I'm pretty stoked about the prototype scarf I finished yesterday.  The colors are perfect, but I wish I could find some really chunky yarn, instead of having to double up medium weight stuff.  Oh well!  Someday I'll try out hand dying ^_^

After a very long and difficult week at my day job, coming home to a giant box of yarn from Premier Yarns was pretty great.  I love the shine and the colors are really great!  Except the raspberry color turned out a lot darker / dustier than I thought from the picture.  Still looking for the perfect pinks!

And now that I'm done with my drawing, I'm going to go back to my new cowl!

I taught my first crochet class today!  My wonderful friend and co-worker, Kristen, took some photos, so I'll share those tomorrow.  I definitely have a lot to learn about teaching...it's so much easier one-on-one!  But I think everyone had a good time and they seemed to be into it.  I'm going to do them bi-weekly, so I'm hoping to see some cool progress ^_^

I was peeping through my google reader (whilst watching Star Trek: Voyager and Myth Busters) and saw a post by Twinkie Chan about Craftcation.  I cannot tell you how badly I'd like to go!  They should totally bring it to the East Coast.  Or someone should host something similar...kind of like my girls from Blogcademy.  Learning is fun!

I guess wearing my purple pants last Friday was a good thing ^_^ So happy for the Ravens, and even more happy for my friends who love the Ravens.  I know they're totally freaking out right now!

We got a smidge of snow today and spent most of the day running errands and doing some laundry.  We stopped by PetSmart to give some kittens some skritches (every time we go, I want to leave with one of them), and we found out one of their regulars, a big white and orange guy named Pumpkin, finally got adopted!  The gentleman working said he felt like he should bring in some champagne because so many people were asking about sweet Pumpkin and all were so glad he finally found his forever home ^_^ I love happy endings.

February 1st!

There was a lot of purple in the office today (Go Ravens!), and even though I totally forgot that the Super Bowl was this weekend, (Go Ravens?) I still wore my purple pants.  So yeah...go Ravens :P
